Our Teachers -

Joslyn Moldstad - Lead Teacher

Joslyn has enjoyed a lengthy career of teaching and caring for young children.  She holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Dr. Martin Luther College.  She has taught elementary school and was a licensed daycare provider for twelve years.  Joslyn has been the preschool director and lead teacher at Jesus' Lambs at Peace since its inception in 2004.  She has done all of this while raising seven children of her own.

Joslyn has received all of the appropriate licenses and certifications necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of her students.  In her spare time she has authored four devotion books and two novels for children.

Heidi Riehl - Teacher's Aid

Heidi has taught the preschool class in our Sunday School for several years.  She brings passion, caring and many ideas into our classroom.  She is a registered nurse and a nursing instructor who is well equiped to take care of the physical needs of her students.  Heidi is also a mother of five that enjoys teaching and nurturing young children.












 


Our Facility -

Jesus' Lambs at Peace Preschool is located inside of Peace Lutheran Church on the corner of Commerce Dr. and Lookout Dr. in upper North Mankato.  The preschool has a main classroom, a reading room and a playground outside.  Please contact Joslyn if you'd like a tour of our facility.




The School Day -

The morning session is from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM
The afternoon session is from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM

Each day is different in the classroom, but in general a day follows this progression:

  • Greetings, Calendar, Bible Story, Unit introduction
  • Individual work time, craft, discovery, reading readiness
  • Move freely about the room - investigate centers
  • Recall and communication
  • Snack and Story
  • Science and Nature / Math
  • Songs, movement, and dramatic play
  • Outside time - games - dismissal

Our Curriculum -

Spiritual Awareness
Through the use of Bible stories, songs and prayers, children learn who Jesus is, to love him as their Savior, and to thank him for his love.

Social Skills
Through a variety of experiences each child learns to value the rewards of responsible behavior and develop a positive attitude.

Language Development
Bible stories, children’s literature, poetry, flannel board stories, drama, listening, speaking, letter recognition, planning, and recalling.

Large and Small Motor Development
Activities that develop large and small muscles, singing games, movement to music, puzzles, blocks, and outdoor play equipment

Science and Nature
Nature study, cooking, experiments which develop problem solving

Math
Number recognition, counting, puzzles, sorting, classifying, and matching games

Arts and Crafts
Drawing, cutting, pasting, painting, clay sculpting, creating theme-related crafts


Details -

We welcome all children between the ages of 33 months and 6 years.
Students must be toilet-trained.

Child care is offered before and after each session.
